Run, Daddy, Run!!

Maya showing off Daddy's first 1/2 marathon medal!!! My Dad and Ryan... Is this before or after the race?? They had to get up at 3am to make the 1 and 1/2 hour drive there... Ryan did the 1/2 marathon and my dad did a 10k.

Happy Father's Day once again! I just wanted to share another one of Ryan's life goals of completing his first 1/2 marathon this weekend!! Hoorrraaayyy Daddy!! He did it under 2 hours which was his goal! Yipeee!! We are so proud of him!! It has been such a pleasure watching him complete some of his life goals now that his life is a little bit more free with his new job! He has always been the best husband and daddy in the world, but now he's got a little more time to define "Ryan" as "Ryan" instead of Ryan the husband, Ryan the daddy or Ryan the Harley paint manager. We are in awe of him!! He is now pumped up for his marathon goal this October in Long Beach!!! My sister has been a great source for training, diet, etc. She has been one of Ryan's biggest cheerleaders!
On a side note, our family is also in awe of my sister. You all know she's a marathon star.. First of all running them... a lot... Well.. last weekend she ran the Ranier to Rustin 50 mile race... Yes 50.. FIFTY. FIFTY.. I still can't grasp the thought. She ran it in 8 hours.. Yes 8 hours of straight running. Can you imagine??? We in no way could complain about our 10 hour drive of sitting on our butts back from WI!! :) Her hubby Mark was able to ride along side her on his bike the last 20 miles apparently acting out scenes from recent Days of our Lives soap episodes as the "serious John" to keep her laughing. Our family just shakes our heads in disbelief and Ryan could only come up with one word to say.. Incredible....
I am so proud of her for always making a goal... and reaching that goal... with no excuses.  She is so modest too.... she'd be ticked off that I am sharing this with you all... If I ran 50 miles straight I think I'd be wearing a t-shirt every day that said so. :0 Hee hee.. By the way.. She got 1st for women and 2nd overall in the race.... She's our hero... CRAZY CRAZY LOCA Hero, but a hero for loving the life she lives and living it up.
P.S.She said she'll never ever do it again. :) The Ironman however she has yet to check off....

Oh my goodness! Congratulations Ryan...that is so great! And your sis, Anna...wow. Oh how I wish I could be a runner. I never have been. My mom meets me on my driveway every morning at 5 a.m. sharp and we walk until 6. It is impossible to find time once the kids are up and active. Good for both of you for finding that "me" time!

Awesome job Carrie for the 5am walk!! I miss being able to do that with my mom... I agree with you in that if I don't get a work out in before the kids get up just forget it.. I think that is what motivates me to get up... the only time I'll have "me" time all day. And at night after they go to bed I am just too exhausted! Hope to talk to you soon!
